About Us
Ancre Somme Association (Scotland) SCIO
We are a Forces Charity, formed in 2016, after a trip to the Battlefields of France and Belgium. We believe it is important to engage with our communities and ensure we understand our Armed Forces heritage from WW1, WW2 to the current day.
Our President is Cllr William Buchanan, our members created our vision, mission and strategy in 2016.
1. Education - we assist, support and enhance young people's understanding of HM Armed Forces from WW1 to the current day. We visit schools and community groups.
2. Remembrance - we remember all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for Sovereign and Nation. We have presented many Memorial Benches to schools and communities. We have annual campaigns to raise awareness of the Purple Poppy to remember the Animals that served - past, present and future.
3. Supporting - we support our Armed Forces and various charities.
4. ASA Forces Charity welcomes any individuals, groups or businesses to our Association; members must always promote the Aims & Objectives of the Association.
